Hello everyone!!!
I've been on vacation for the month of July and only now I've unpacked and am straightening up my house. I just needed to keep my feet up for about a week to recover from the plane ride and car ride and blah blah blah!
Let me tell you we had quite the adventure. We drove to Travis AFB in California (Sacramento area) to catch a FREE military flight to Hickam AFB in Hawaii. It was the only way we were able to afford to go home for a family reunion and some fresh air. When we got to Travis (gorgeous base) we found out that the next flight to Hickam was going to be the next day so we got a hotel and made the best of the beginning of our vacation. Well three days later and 2 more hotels and a night in the USO (military lounge in the passenger terminal) we finally got on to a plane (cargo plane which had passenger seats instead of cargo nets thank goodness). We managed to get on a flight from 'Oahu to Kaua'i (thanks to our dear friend Michelle`) and made it for the last day of our family reunion. We had way too much fun. We went all over Kaua'i (well as much as you can drag three kids and a pregnant mama around) and showed the kids where their Daddy grew up.
Here are some of the scrapbook pages I've completed so far.
While we waited for an available flight to Hawaii from Cali we had some fun in the hotel pool. I'm so grateful that we belong to the Star Vacation Club. . . they saved us so much $$$ on hotels and rental cars throughout our trip.
While driving through Omau to find where my mom grew up, we came across Piko Rd. Of course we had to take a picture just for Piko's sake.
Today just keeps getting better. I found that the "fix" I spent all day
Friday working on wasn't really a fix. The server cache just tricked me
into thinking it worked, and now the only thing working is something that
makes no sense (and will probably stop working once the cache clears). The
best part, though, is that I went outside to enjoy my lunch at a picnic
table and get out of the frigid building only to get stung by a bee. On my
ankle. I'm hoping it's a bee because I didn't see it and this is the *worst
* pain I've ever felt from getting stung... I guess we'll see if I still
have a foot by the end of the day :-P ugghhhh!
I couldn't sleep last night, so I woke up late this morning. Then the
combination of a semi truck and reduced speed limits (for construction that
never actually takes place) caused me to miss my exit. This made me over 10
minutes late for work. ahh! So annoyed.
But... I do have a Red Bull (I think I'll make Mondays and Fridays official
Red Bull days), and I'm probably going to get an HDTV today. Oh, and I set
up Vox to update through email :D

Not the funny kind-of HAHA, but the I-told-you-so-but-you-had-to-think-differently-dumbass kind-of HAHA.
Every day I am reminded of words that have stuck with me for, like, ever. One example is something my dad always told me, righty tighty, lefty loosey, and I always say that in my head as I turn the faucet on & off in the backyard. Another example is from my grandmother, nothing is ever just one color, and I always think that when I'm coloring/doodling. Today, I'm reminded by someone called Life with a HAHA, and I'm reminded that every time I run into the same problem with the same solution.
You wouldn't pay me enough to relive July 2008. In fact, I want to tear out the days off my calendar that were tragic. That's exactly what July 2008 can be described as: tragedy (of course, with a few awesome, perfect days with the best loving friends ever). August has been treating me well. So far, so good. No complaints. August can be described as hopeful. I'm regaining my hope day by day--my chin raising further up.
I ran into two awesome friends whom I haven't talked to or hung out with in forever as I was purchasing cedar wood for Senor BunBun's liter box. I was greeted by these two tall and wonderful friends excitedly. I was even more excited when they told me they are getting married next year! W00t. I'm so happy for them. But, for the cherry on top, I was told that she couldn't pass the Praxis, like me, and we're so ready to graduate! Well, this is the actual cherry: she informed me of a different route. A route without trying to pass the Praxis, which had me hurrying home to tell my mom. On Monday: I call for an advising appointment. Let's see how this works. Maybe I can take classes this fall, and maybe I can graduate this fall. But, nothing's in stone. And I don't like assuming because I hate getting my hopes up (something I'm way too familiar with always).
It's hard to stay optimistic when there's so much weight on disappointment and regret. Regardless of the little things, it's best not to forget the big goal. It's best not to forget that there are other options.
Here's to hope that soon my Hope Month will end, and part of everything will turn out okay.
Little by little, day by day.
Things will get better if you believe, and to believe you must make things happen.
*Deep Breath*
But sometimes, you're Lucky.
So!
I made a PlurkFlickr Manga Family Photo, and I would like to make a Vox Manga Family Photo too! If you want to join in, create your manga avatar here, and upload it either on flickr or photobucket. Send me the correct URL and I will add you to the Family Photo! And, there's a deadline... send it in by August 19th, and I'll upload it on August 20th. I'm going out of town on the 21st. I hope you send those in! Yay!
It's Friday.
It's Payday.
I had a Red Bull this morning.
I got a free donut at work.
I got my hair done after work.
Getting Baja Sol Fresh for dinner.
Today has been spectacular :D
